Smudgy Black Eyeliner

Create this sultry romantic look by lining your inner rims with black pencil and adding smudgy black shadow completely around your eyes peepers. Your eyes will pop against the soft, smokey eyeliner that isn’t TOO dark or over-the-top for daily wear.

  • Cover your entire lid with a good primer, try NYX HD Eye shadow base. Rub it in all the way up to the brow bone. Next I like to cover it with a very neutral eye shadow color. You can use a more shimmery shadow but I would recommend a matte neutral shadow. One to try is NYX single shadow in Pure Skin ($4.00).
  • Next using a very soft eye pencil in the color black line your upper and lower lash line. I have found that the softest one is by Rimmel. It’s called soft kohl liner, so it should be easy for you all to find. Plus it’s only $4.50 so its super cheap.
  • Using a smudge brush, smudge the black liner in, making sure you don’t go to far up your lid. Don’t forget to smudge your lower lash line too. Next I like take a black eye shadow (NYX single shadow in Midnight) using the same smudge brush and go over the black line to blend (not too much though). Last you want to take a clean fluffy eye shadow brush and go over the entire lid in a circular motion to diffuse the color.

Since I like a more dramatic look I like to take liquid eyeliner and line only my upper lash line. You can also line your lower lash line but remember it will make your eyes look a lot smaller. But there are no rules to makeup application.
